Sample

  1. Fasting blood is the best sample.
  2. The patient needs fasting for 8 to 10 hours.

Indications

  1. For routine health check-up.
  2. To evaluate kidney function.
  3. To evaluate the liver function.
  4. To monitor the medication which may affect the liver or kidneys.

The metabolic panel evaluates the function of various organs.

This measures:

  1. Blood glucose level
  2. Serum electrolytes
  3. Kidney function tests
  4. Liver function tests
  5. Fluid electrolytes
