Calcium channel blocker

These are the drugs which inhibit the entry of the calcium into the cells or mobilization of the calcium from the intracellular stores resulting in:

1. Slowing of the atrioventricular conduction.
2. Slowing of the sinoatrial conduction.
3. Relaxation of the arterial smooth muscle and the cardiac muscle.
4. It is used in the treatment of angina, cardiac arrhythmias,  and hypertension.
