Hepatitis B carrier

In Pakistan hepatitis is spreading which may be due to lak of education and awareness. The rate of carrier for hepatitis B is roughly in the range of 5 to 20 percent.Its prevalance is high in Muzafarghar and Dera Ghazi Khan areas. The carriers are HBS antigen positive and may be Liver fuction tests normal ,these are called healthy carriers.These patients need to be watched for any abnormality in the liver funtion tests.When there is increase in serum GOT or GPT levles, then this group needs treatment.
