Marriages in Pakistan ,and Medical aspects
Pakistani marriages
In Pakistan mostly the the marriages are arranged marriages. This percentages is more than 80 %. Even sometime the couple see each other on their wedding.
For successful marriages there is need for the work up of both the couple.
I think and suggest that should be premarital screening of boy and girl.
The work up of boys includes :
1. Screening for viral markers like hepatitis B and C.
2. Screening for tuberculosis .
3. Must have semen analysis report .
4. Blood grouping .
The work up of girl includes :
1. Screening for hepatitis B and C .
2. Screening for tuberculosis .
3. Blood grouping .
4. Must have work up for fertility .
Even this work up may be mandatory by the law. This work up will decrease the number of failure of the marriages.
After Medical check up then both have counseling for marriage which will includes :
1. Boy should be asked for reason to marry. He should satisfy that he is mentally prepared for the marriage.
2. He should be asked how he will look after his wife . How he will fulfill the needs for marital life and his wife.
3.He should be advised to respect the parents and close relatives of wife.
3. Girl should have training how she is going to run the house.
4. Girl should have training to look after the kitchen .
5.She should be taught the importance of husband parents and his other close relations.
Post marital training of both husband and wife should be done and this traning will includes “how to look after the children”
This training is very important for the happy couple. This will consist of two phases.
- Phase one is from birth of baby to preschool period.
- Phase two is school period
.These both phases are also very important for the normal upbringing of the baby.
