  1. Encourage them to eat vegetables and green leafy salads.
    1. Try to add more frequent vegetables to your diet.
    2. Vegetables have a low glycemic index.
  2. Next, the proteins, try to get more from the legumes, fish, and soy products.
  3. Third in the diet are starches; try to get them from starchy vegetables or whole grains and low to light carbohydrates.
    1. Starches are not the main course; these are side dishes.
  4. Select canola oil, flax seeds, and olive oils for fats and oils.
    1. Can eat nuts, seeds, olives, and avocado.
  5. As for sweets, there is always a craze for diabetics.
    1. Try to go for fresh fruits and some products with no added sugars.
