Carcinoid syndrome

This is symptoms complex associated with carcinoid tumors and characterized by:

1. Attacks of severe cyanotic flushing of the skin lasting from minutes to days.
2. Diarrhea and watery stool.
3. Attacks of bronchoconstriction.
4. A sudden drop in blood pressure.
5. There is edema.
6. There is ascites.
7. There are symptoms due to the secretion of serotonin, prostaglandins, and other biologically active substances.
